vTesseract

My name is Josh Atwell and I've been working in the IT industry exclusively since 2004. I've received my VCAP-DCD, VCAP-DCA, VCP3,4 certifications. I am currently working as a vArchitect for VCE where I am helping customers with many things that start with 'V'.

vTesseract is my personal presence for my thoughts, musings, and technical write-ups involving PowerShell, datacenter virtualization and other technologies I come across daily. The opinions and thoughts on this site are my own and are not endorsed or affiliated by my employer or anyone else. This is done on my own free time and all work is limited based on my time and available resources. Your comments, thoughts, opinions are welcome. Thanks for reading!

Engineers Unplugged

I’ve been very fortunate to be able to work alongside Amy Lewis (@commsninja) at various conferences and other community projects for Cisco.  One of her more brilliant ideas, alongside #vBacon Tweetups, was the EngineersUnplugged video series.

These videos run about 7 minutes and put two technologists face to face with a whiteboard and a topic.  You can find the series at www.engineersunplugged.com where you can also subscribe to the YouTube channel.  We’re still a bit early on in the project but there are some seriously excellent conversations being had

Normally with Engineers Unplugged I’m behind the camera but every once in a while Amy puts me front and center (more of those to come I’m sure).  This time it was with my buddy Mike Laverick talking about the role of the Cloud Architect

Not only will I sing with Mike Laverick (Mike_Laverick), but I’m apparently his board-wiping lackey. LOL  I’m always happy to talk with Mike and was glad to continue our ongoing conversation about what the new role of a Cloud Architect is and how it differs from traditional IT roles.
